Creative brief automation
A kickoff call is the beginning. I built the part that turns it into a brief.
The work before
After a new-client call, an agency still has to pull the notes together, research the brand, look at its social content and competitors, and turn all of that into something the team can make.
I built a workflow that brings those steps together, using the agency’s own brief format.
- Start with the context
- Call notes, email context, and the client’s actual ask.
- Look at the work
- Recent campaigns, real feed images, video sequences, and calculated performance comparisons.
- Make the brief
- Creative gaps, concepts to shoot, the reason for each idea, and links to the supporting work.
What comes out
An editable creative brief in the team’s document format. It includes a visual feed review, competitor comparisons, previous campaigns, and shoot concepts with a story, rationale, and execution plan.
Performance comparisons are calculated from the source data. Visual observations come from the actual images and video frames, with links that let the team check the references.
Where people stay involved
The agency checks that the research matches the client, reviews the concepts, and edits the brief before it goes anywhere. The workflow produces the document; it doesn’t send it to the client.
The client brief stays private. You can see a separate example of my approach to source-based visual research in Creator analysis.
